Budgeting for "The Sinister Side": Making Every Rupee Count

As the producer of my AS Level film opening project, "The Sinister Side", I knew that budgeting would be a crucial aspect of bringing this horror/crime thriller to life. With a limited budget, every rupee counted, and I had to make some tough decisions to ensure that we stayed within our means.

One of the biggest investments we made was in camera equipment. To achieve a cinematic look, we purchased ND Filters for the camera, which set us back by 2500 rupees. But trust me, it was worth it – the footage looks amazing!

We also invested in a Camera Rig, which cost us 6000 rupees. This was a significant expense, but it allowed us to capture smooth and stabilized footage, which is essential for creating a professional-looking film.

Location scouting was another challenge. We had to find a location that fit our vision and budget. After searching high and low, we finally found the perfect spot – and it was available for rent! This saved us a significant amount of money, which we could then allocate to other areas of the production.

Now, you might be wondering what BBQ has to do with filmmaking. Well, let me tell you – feeding your cast and crew is essential! We budgeted 5000 rupees for a BBQ spread, which included the grill, chicken, coal, and all the fixings. It was a great way to keep everyone energized and motivated throughout the shoot.

Finally, with our location being quite far from our base, petrol costs added up quickly. We budgeted 4000 rupees for fuel, which seemed like a lot at the time, but it was necessary to get the shots we needed.

All in all, budgeting for "The Sinister Side" was a challenge, but it forced us to be creative and resourceful. By prioritizing our spending and making smart investments, we were able to create a high-quality film that we're all proud of.
