The Dark Reflection: John's Wardrobe

In the realm of horror, every detail counts, and costume design is no exception. In my AS Level film opening project, "The Sinister Side", the main character John's wardrobe is a deliberate choice that reflects the dark and ominous tone of the film.

According to semiotic theory, black is often associated with death, mourning, and the supernatural (Barthes, 1972). John's black jacket and dark-colored clothes can be seen as a visual representation of the darkness that surrounds him.
